EVALUATION RESULTS Fifty-four (54) delegates accomplished the evaluation forms. The filled-up forms which were divided into four components: conference presenters, conference organization, conference venue and facilities and overall evaluation, were collated (See Annex 24 for the evaluation results). The overall evaluation of the conference was very good. All the other aspects of the conference were also given high scores (with very good and good). As for the conference presenters, the keynote speaker garnered the highest score of 39 (very good) while in the conference organization, overall conference facilitation gained 22 (very good) while the facilities got 41(very good). However, time allotment of presentations and time management received fair scores of 22. Qualitative suggestions to improve the conference were also consolidated and classified further. The major recommendations were on the presentations and speakers as well as the time elements. Most participants listed the need to limit number of speakers and provide more time for presenters. They also wished for more time during workshops, open forum and other activities. The mechanisms for post conference activities were not also clarified, thus, follow up meetings; forum or other means of gathering the people together were suggested. Given the focus of the conference on rural communities, more grassroots organizations as well as other government agencies with migrant concerns could have been invited to join the conference. Delegates wanted study and city tours especially for first time visitors to Davao City. ERCOF website should be enhanced and developed more professionally. One set of comments called for the spirituality of all these endeavors. Lastly, one delegate used the evaluation form to thank the coordinators, organizers and secretariat for conducting the conference. |
